Octoroon Rangoon

Let me just start by saying that I really wish more songs sampled Ballad of Jack Noir. It’s a classy melody that doesn’t get done justice by its original soundfont. (Incidentally, I also feel this way about Endless Climb, but that doesn’t want for remixes.)

The main thing that sticks out to me about Octoroon Rangoon is how it alternates between positive, orderly major keys and distorted minor keys, making for a sort of “good and evil” duality. I seem to recall there being some story behind the name, but I can’t remember what it is. Something to do with crab rangoon, I think.

Wait a minute. Octoroon? Both good and evil? Did… did Radiation write an accidental Vriska theme before she was even introduced?

Woah…

this is INSANE.
